This program will take you through weekly learnings and guided exercises to help you improve your flexibility. Topics include how incorrect posture and even handling stress can affect your muscles and joints, potentially decreasing your range of motion. Plus, once a week, you’ll meet with a curves coach, online or in-club, to review what you have learned, demonstrate the exercise skills you’ve mastered, and help answer any questions you may have.

What is Stress?

Stress is your body’s response to a challenge or demand, and is a feeling of emotional or physical tension. Stretching allows relief of this physical muscle tension, helping you relax, decrease anxiety and improve sleep patterns. Irregular stretching can affect your muscles and joints, potentially decreasing your range of motion. This class will reduce your heart rate and focus on breathing, guiding you through stress management.

Signs of Stress

The body responds to stress by tightening muscles, particularly in the upper back and shoulders. Majority of muscle tension is stress related, impacting sleep patterns and joint mobility.

Over the past few months, have you:

  • Experienced pain in your lower back, neck, and/or shoulders?

Then Curves’ Stretching & Stress Management class will teach you how to deal with the effects of stress and how to improve your flexibility, leading to a better quality of life. We’ll show you how to incorporate stretching through effective techniques, with the guidance of your Curves coach.
