Curves has been part of my weekly routine for 15 years. A wife, mom of four, and a fulltime elementary school teacher, I’d go to Curves at 6:00 am before school or 4:30 pm after school.
When I started at Curves, I found some of the machines to be particularly challenging, and I had trouble completing many repetitions. Working out consistently week after week made me stronger, and I can now do several reps on those machines without struggling. During the summer, I’d skip workouts, but I saw the need to keep coming to maintain the strength I had attained. Consistency has been the secret to reaching my goals.
Today, our children are grown and have moved on to their families and their careers around the U.S. I retired after 24 years of teaching, leaving a fulfilling career as well as the interaction that comes with going to work each day. Curves has helped me adjust to retirement. The atmosphere is very positive and encouraging, and I enjoy the other members and the staff who work here.
Going to Curves consistently builds such strength and endurance, but I’ve gained a new appreciation for the camaraderie. It’s been a delightful way to transition into my new life chapter. I have friends and fitness—both so important to my enjoyment of life.
