May is busy with Mother’s Day and graduations, not to mention Memorial Day! But give yourself time for a quick workout with Curves. Our circuit is designed to help you build strength, balance and flexibility, all in 30 minutes per session. Let’s sneak a peek at two featured Curves moves:
Featured Machine: Bicep/Tricep Machine
This machine will strengthen your biceps and triceps, which make up the front and back of the arm. Reach over top of the chest pad and place your wrists between the pads. Alternate arms as you pull up with one arm and push down with the other.
This machine will help strengthen the arms for ease of overall daily living (lifting and carrying things, doing house work, or being more active with family).
Featured Move: Reverse Fly
Stand with your feet about hip width apart for a good stable base. Keep your legs straight with the knees soft, not locked. Flex slightly at the hips and let your arms hang down from your shoulders with your palms facing each other. Raise both arms out to the sides as you squeeze your shoulder blades together stopping when they reach shoulder height. Pause and return to the starting position. Exhale as you bring your arms up and inhale as you return them to the starting position.
This move will strengthen the back to assist with proper posture as you age.
