In April, the Curves community will embark on an exciting adventure. Curves founder Diane Heavin will join Australian superstar Olivia Newton-John and other celebrities, athletes, business leaders and cancer survivors on a three-week walk along the Great Wall of China trekking 142 miles (228 km) across some of the oldest and steepest parts of the wall.
Olivia, who won her battle with breast cancer 15 years ago, has created The Great Walk to Beijing 2008 as a fundraiser for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre Appeal. It's an extreme journey to raise money and awareness for cancer patient care, research and education.
Curves is proud to be a worldwide presenting sponsor of the event. Diane is just as proud to represent the entire Curves community. To make that a reality, she'll be walking in memory of every Curves member who has lost her life to cancer, in honor of every Curves member who has battled cancer, and in hope for a cure for all.
The Curves team is training hard, doing the Curves workout three times a week and walking, climbing, and hiking to get in shape. We also work hard every day to strengthen women. With research showing a significant link between obesity and cancer, getting fit is now more important then ever. We hope you'll join us every step of the way.
